John Tyler Barnes

 Geospatial Analyst


John Tyler Barnes is a Geospatial Analyst and Project Manager for Urban3. Drawing from a diverse undergraduate education with research experience in GIS site suitability analysis and urban policy, he uses GIS to illustrate land use patterns and economic trends on both a local and regional scale. His work at Urban3 concentrates on property and retail tax analysis and real estate valuation forecasting. JT utilizes a variety of software applications including ArcGIS, the Adobe Creative Suite and web design technologies to visualize data and information.

During his time at Appalachian State University, JT was an undergraduate research assistant where he analyzed public strategies for land reclamation, adaptive reuse of vacant and underutilized properties and real estate site selection processes. In addition, JT served on the Town of Boone Planning Commission.
